About the Role
We are offering a full-time, permanent position for a Paediatric Orthopaedic Surgeon, with a preference for candidates who have a keen interest in upper limb and deformity correction surgery. In this role, you will provide high-quality orthopaedic care to the residents of the Bay of Plenty, serving both Tauranga and Whakatane Hospitals. Your responsibilities will include managing acute and planned care, along with on-call commitments.
About the Team/Service
Our Orthopaedic Department in the Bay of Plenty provides a comprehensive range of general and specialized orthopaedic services. The department consists of 16 surgeons, 4 SET trainees, 9 pre-SET registrars, and regular fellows. We also have a team of house officers and host medical students from the University of Auckland. We are dedicated to delivering the highest standard of orthopaedic care and prioritize quality education, fostering a supportive and collegial work environment.
About You
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and attributes:
- Fellowship with the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons or an equivalent qualification.
- Eligibility for an Annual Practicing Certificate with a vocational scope in Orthopaedic Surgery from the Medical Council of New Zealand.
- Alignment with the values of our department, demonstrating the ability to work professionally with colleagues and other healthcare providers.
