About the Role
We are excited to announce a full-time opportunity for a Specialist Otorhinolaryngologist (ORL Surgeon) to join our expanding ORL team at Bay of Plenty - Hauora a Toi. This role, which consists of 1.0 FTE (40 hours per week), involves providing essential services across both our Tauranga and Whakatane Hospitals, thus serving a wide population throughout the Bay of Plenty region.
As a vital member of our ORL team, you will deliver both acute and planned care for adult and paediatric patients. You will be part of a supportive and growing Otorhinolaryngology team that provides services across the beautiful coastal region of the Bay of Plenty. Our ORL service, while small, is committed to delivering high-quality and equitable ENT care. We operate across two sites, backed by a network of dedicated clinicians, surgical teams, and clinical leaders.
About You
We are looking for an experienced and qualified ORL Surgeon who is dedicated to equity, access, and collaborative care. You should excel in working across specialties, demonstrate clear clinical judgment in complex cases, and value teamwork alongside technical expertise.
What You Will Bring
- Fellowship or qualifications suitable for vocational registration in ORL with the Medical Council of New Zealand.
- Eligibility for vocational registration within two years (if not already registered).
- A team-focused mindset with a strong commitment to equitable service delivery.
- Clinical experience in both paediatric and adult ENT care.
- Ability to contribute to the acute roster and support junior medical staff.
- Cultural competence and a commitment to improving outcomes for Māori and underserved populations.
