Description
About the Company
Health New Zealand - Hauora a Toi Bay of Plenty is committed to providing exceptional healthcare services to our community. Our team is dedicated to fostering a diverse and inclusive workforce that reflects the rich tapestry of New Zealand's population, ensuring we meet the needs of all individuals we serve.
About the Role
We are looking to appoint Interventional and/or General Radiologists to join our dynamic team. You will become part of a dedicated group of 21 Radiologists, 6 Registrars, and supportive staff, including Medical Imaging Technologists, administration personnel, orderlies, and nurses.
Our radiology department handles a comprehensive workload that includes general radiology, ultrasound, MDCT, angiography, and various interventional procedures. An on-call component allows us to maintain a 24-hour acute service, supplemented by overnight reporting through teleradiology services.
For those focusing on General Radiology, a special interest in Paediatric and/or Chest imaging would be advantageous, although we welcome applicants with expertise in other subspecialties.
If you are interested in Interventional Radiology, you will be joining a team of four Interventionalists engaged in a wide array of Vascular, Oncology, and General IR procedures. Our Interventional Radiology team performs all peripheral vascular procedures in the hospital, and we collaborate with the Vascular service for endovascular aortic aneurysm repairs. Additionally, we conduct various Interventional Oncology procedures, including trans-arterial embolization and percutaneous ablation.
While your primary work location will be at Tauranga Hospital, our service also supports Whakatane Hospital. We encourage applications from Radiologists seeking both full-time and part-time positions. Please indicate your preferred hours and areas of expertise in your cover letter.
About the Team/Service/Location
The Tauranga Radiology Department is structured into distinct areas, including Interventional/fluoroscopy, Ultrasound, CT, General X-Ray, and a private MRI facility. Our department is equipped with four general rooms (including one in the Emergency Department), a Toshiba and a Siemens CT scanner, five ultrasound machines, and a Siemens angiography/fluoroscopy suite.
The Whakatane Radiology Department features two general rooms, a Siemens CT scanner, and two colour Doppler ultrasound machines.
