About the Role
We are currently seeking an experienced Physiotherapist to join our Medical Specialties and Neurosciences team at Christchurch Hospital. This permanent position requires a commitment of 40 hours per week, working from Monday to Friday, with occasional weekends and on-call duties.
In this role, you will collaborate closely with your colleagues to assess and manage a diverse range of presentations in General Medicine and the Medical Assessment Unit. Our team supports each other in covering additional specialties, including Acute Stroke, Neurosurgery, Neurology, Oncology, and Haematology.
You will also play a key role in educating and training 4th year undergraduate students, as well as supervising our junior rotational staff. We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic and confident in their clinical practice and possesses a collaborative communication style.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Conducting expert assessments and implementing appropriate interventions while providing referrals to other services as needed.
- Supervising and mentoring rotational staff and final year physiotherapy students.
- Contributing to and facilitating service improvements.
About You
We are looking for a dedicated Physiotherapist who will deliver comprehensive assessments and treatments for patients with complex and diverse conditions. You will develop patient-focused treatment programs and manage resources effectively under the guidance of the Team Leader.
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- Broad experience in areas such as general medicine, respiratory, and neurology.
- The ability to work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team.
- A strong enthusiasm for sharing your knowledge within your discipline.
- A working knowledge of quality improvement processes.
- Competency in te ao Maori, tikanga, and te reo Maori, or a commitment to starting your learning journey in these areas.
- Experience in projects or initiatives that align with Te Tiriti principles and frameworks, particularly in healthcare settings.
