About the Role
We are currently seeking an experienced Respiratory Physiotherapist to join our Cardiorespiratory and Surgical team at Christchurch Hospital. This combined inpatient and outpatient role involves working with both respiratory outpatients and medical respiratory inpatients.
In this position, you will be responsible for conducting physiotherapeutic assessments for patients with diverse and complex respiratory conditions. You will develop and implement patient-focused treatment programs in both acute and outpatient settings. Additionally, you will play a key role in the education and training of fourth-year undergraduate students, as well as mentoring our rotational staff. We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, confident in their clinical practice, and possesses a collaborative communication style.
This role will also require participation in weekend and on-call rosters.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct assessments and implement appropriate interventions while providing advice or referrals to other services
- Supervise and mentor rotational staff and final year physiotherapy students
- Support quality improvement initiatives
About You
To be considered for this role, you should have:
- Experience in a medical respiratory setting, whether with inpatients or outpatients
- Inpatient hospital experience is desirable
- The ability to work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team
- Enthusiasm and confidence in sharing your knowledge across your discipline
- Competency in te ao Maori, tikanga, and te reo Maori, or a commitment to starting your learning journey in these areas
- Registration with the NZ Physiotherapy Board and possession of an Annual Practicing Certificate is essential
