Description
About the Company
We are part of Te Whatu Ora - Health NZ, following our transition from the West Coast DHB in July of last year. Our organization is dedicated to making a meaningful impact during a transformative period in the healthcare industry. We take pride in our unique approach to service delivery, which emphasizes innovation, collaboration, and open communication.
About the Role
We have LMC (Lead Maternity Carer) positions available on the beautiful West Coast, including areas like Buller. We welcome applications from registered midwives with a current Practicing Certificate, and we encourage new graduate midwives to apply.
If you seek a fulfilling work-life balance in a rural community surrounded by the stunning landscapes of the West Coast, this role might be perfect for you. Your typical day will involve providing antenatal and postnatal care to the residents of the West Coast region. You will have the option to offer home births or utilize our birthing units at Te Nikau Maternity in Greymouth or Te Rua KawaKawa in Westport.
In addition to your responsibilities, you will have the chance to explore some of New Zealand's best-kept scenic secrets. The West Coast is particularly renowned for its outdoor activities, including tramping, rafting, and canoeing.
Although you will be working within the community, we ensure that you have access to education, training, and support from our team at Te Nikau. You will also receive collegial support from your central and southern colleagues who provide LMC care. Additionally, we offer a sustainability package to our West Coast LMCs.
Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must be registered with the Midwifery Council of New Zealand and hold a current Annual Practicing Certificate (APC). Strong time management, interpersonal, and organizational skills are essential.
Benefits
Joining our team means becoming part of a supportive and dynamic work environment. You will have opportunities for professional development and access to resources that will help you thrive in your role.
