About the Role
We are seeking an Oral Health Therapist for full-time permanent positions across various locations on the West Coast, including Hokitika, Greymouth, and Westport. In your cover letter, please indicate your preferred location.
In this role, you will provide essential dental therapy to our tamariki (children) in community and school settings. You will have the opportunity to work with diverse patient groups, addressing a wide range of oral health needs. We are looking for a reflective practitioner who embraces innovation and is excited to collaborate with a skilled team of dental and oral health professionals.
Some travel across the Te Tai o Poutini region may be required, and you may be eligible for a voluntary bonding scheme that offers financial incentives after three, four, and five years of service.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Delivering high-quality oral health care tailored to the physical, social, and cultural needs of pre-school and school-age clients.
- Attending meetings, in-service training, and courses relevant to your role.
- Participating in team meetings and contributing to the service quality improvement process.
About You
We are looking for an enthusiastic Dental/Oral Health Therapist who is passionate about providing care in a regional setting. You should hold a current Annual Practising Certificate (APC) and ideally have experience with dental IT practice management systems, such as Titanium, although this is not a requirement.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
- Ability to deliver high-quality dental care to children while adhering to policies and maintaining privacy and infection prevention and control standards.
- Strong motivation for ongoing professional development.
- Excellent administrative, organizational, and time management skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with a diverse range of individuals.
- Self-motivated, flexible, and adaptable to a changing healthcare landscape.
- Competency in te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori, or a commitment to begin your learning journey in this area.
- Current registration and Annual Practising Certificate with the New Zealand Dental Council.
- A clean manual driver's license.
