Open seven days a week, our café prides itself on delivering exceptional customer service and high-quality products. We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Café Manager to lead our team and help us maintain our reputation for excellence.
About the Role
As the Café Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing daily operations and ensuring that our staff provides outstanding service to our customers. This full-time position requires a minimum commitment of 30 hours per week, with shifts scheduled across all seven days, including public holidays. The pay rate for this position ranges from $25.00 to $30.00 per hour, depending on experience.
In this fast-paced environment, you will need to manage various responsibilities effectively, including customer service, staff management, and product quality control. Your passion for hospitality and your ability to perform under pressure will be essential to your success in this role.
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Take ownership of the café by actively engaging with the community and its patrons.
- Ensure the café's security and maintain a safe working environment for all staff.
- Manage staffing needs by scheduling team members according to business requirements while adhering to target labor costs.
- Oversee the purchasing of goods and maintain accurate records of stock levels.
- Handle all cash management functions, including performing POS duties and managing opening and closing procedures.
- Uphold proper loss prevention standards by reviewing cash handling processes and ensuring compliance with deposit and safe protocols.
- Identify staffing needs and oversee the recruitment, interviewing, hiring, and training of qualified candidates.
- Ensure that dining facilities comply with health regulations and maintain cleanliness and functionality while gathering customer feedback on meals and service.
- Manage the smooth operation of the café during events, including catering and hosting responsibilities.
What We’re Looking For
- A minimum of 6 months of work experience in the café or restaurant hospitality sector.
- A diploma-level qualification or higher is preferred.
- Strong time management and organizational skills, with effective communication abilities.
- Availability to start work at 6 am, as we open our doors at 7 am.
