About the Role
We are currently seeking full-time Construction Technicians to join our team. These permanent positions will involve deployment on various infrastructure and commercial projects throughout New Zealand, with site locations determined by project demands. We offer a competitive pay range starting at $25.00 per hour and going up to $40.00 per hour, with a minimum guarantee of 30 hours per week. As part of our commitment to our employees, we provide personal protective equipment (PPE) and tools necessary for the job.
Key Responsibilities
As a Construction Technician, your responsibilities will include:
- Performing tasks that align with your skills and capabilities to support our business operations.
- Complying with all contractual obligations and project requirements, ensuring that customer service meets or exceeds expectations.
- Erecting scaffolding or ladders for assembling structures above ground level.
- Creating structures, forms, or chutes and pouring concrete.
- Covering subfloors with building paper to prevent moisture and laying hardwood, parquet, or wood-strip-block floors.
- Filling cracks or defects in plaster or plasterboard and sanding patches.
- Positioning and securing steel bars, rods, cables, or mesh in concrete forms using various tools.
- Conducting general labor tasks, including cleaning construction sites as directed by management.
- Loading and unloading building materials, tools, and equipment and transporting them around the site.
- Performing additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:
- Some experience in the construction industry is preferred but not essential.
- A friendly demeanor, strong time management skills, and an excellent work ethic are essential.
- A commitment to learning and developing your skills within the industry.
- Sound knowledge of health and safety procedures.
- Reliability and a strong work ethic.
- Experience in fabricating and installing custom joinery and cabinetry.
- General framing, fix-outs, door hanging, and installation of skirting and architraves.
- Ability to measure and cut materials with precision.
- Capability to work effectively as part of a team while maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient workspace.
- Willingness to collaborate with other trades as needed.
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check and drug test.

While this role is listed in Hawke's Bay, we are actively recruiting for positions across all regions of New Zealand, including:
- North Island: Northland, Auckland, Waikato, Bay of Plenty, Gisborne, Hawke’s Bay, Taranaki, Manawatu-Whanganui, Wellington.
- South Island: Tasman, Nelson, Marlborough, West Coast, Canterbury, Otago, Southland.
