About the Role
We are currently seeking a full-time Community Support Worker for our residential services in Whangarei. This position offers 40 hours of work per week, with a competitive hourly rate ranging from $23.50 to $29.10. In this role, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of those we support.
As a Community Support Worker, you will need to demonstrate empathy for the challenges our clients face while striving to build an ordinary life. You should have the energy to keep up with active individuals, the ability to remain calm and reassuring in various situations, and the resilience to help maintain boundaries for safety. Your communication skills will be essential in effectively and supportively interacting with clients, their families, and your colleagues. Additionally, you will provide support and motivation in personal care and daily living skills.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and attributes:
- A genuine interest in obtaining a Community Support Worker Level Three or higher qualification; we are happy to support you in achieving this while you work.
- Previous experience in supporting individuals with disabilities, mental health issues, or challenging behaviors is desirable but not mandatory.
- Reliability, commitment, and a passion for working with people.
- A full New Zealand driver's license.
- The ability to pass a New Zealand police check.
- Proficiency in using a computer, including familiarity with programs such as Word, Internet Explorer, and email.
