We are currently seeking a Junior Fabricator / Storeperson to join our supportive team in Saint Johns. About the Role This hands-on position is essential to the success of Guardian Steel. In this role, you will split your time between managing incoming and outgoing goods and assisting our fabrication team. We provide comprehensive training for the fabrication aspects of the job, so a willingness to learn and a positive attitude are key attributes for success. Key Responsibilities - Assist with cutting, folding, and assembling metal components - Operate basic hand and power tools, including grinders, drills, and shears - Support senior fabricators with measuring, marking, and preparing materials - Perform spot welding or assist with welding tasks, if trained - Help load and unload materials for production - Maintain a clean and safe work area, adhering to health and safety procedures - Learn to read and interpret basic technical drawings or fabrication plans - Carry out quality checks on completed items under supervision - Assist with machine setup and maintenance as required - Report damaged tools, equipment, or safety concerns to supervisors - Follow all company policies, procedures, and production schedules - Manage warehouse inventory, conduct stocktakes, and maintain general organization - Load and unload materials safely and efficiently - Liaise with suppliers and customers in a professional manner What We're Looking For - Good physical fitness and a strong work ethic - Some experience in a workshop or warehouse environment is preferred but not essential - A keen desire to learn and grow in the fabrication trade - Reliability, punctuality, and the ability to work well in a team What We Offer - Competitive pay based on experience - Opportunities to learn and advance in the trade - A supportive and down-to-earth team environment - Full-time hours with steady work If you are ready to embrace a diverse role where no two days are the same, we would be excited to hear from you.
