About the Role
We currently have an exciting opportunity for an Anaesthetist to join our Anaesthesia department at Timaru Hospital. Our team of ten professionals supports four theatres, an Obstetric Unit that averages 590 births per year, and a combined Intensive Care Unit/Coronary Care Unit, all with the assistance of skilled Anesthetic Technicians and nursing staff.
As an Anaesthetist Specialist, you will provide efficient and safe anesthetic services, pain management treatment, and care in the intensive care unit. This role can be tailored to be part-time or full-time based on mutual agreement, with working hours typically falling between 8:00 AM and 6:00 PM, Monday to Friday. Additionally, you will be required to participate in a rostered On Call schedule outside of normal working hours, on weekends, and during public holidays.
On Call Duties
The after-hours On Call duty involves a frequency of 1:12, where you will be the first point of contact for any urgent needs outside of regular hours. There is also the opportunity to engage in private practice with the local Bidwill Trust Private Hospital, where many of our team members maintain professional associations.
