About the Role We are seeking a qualified Anaesthetist to join our team at Wairarapa Hospital. You will be one of five Anaesthetists in our unit, which delivers a comprehensive service to both public and private patients in the Wairarapa region. In addition to your primary responsibilities, you will also support the hospital's High Dependency Unit. We have openings for both full-time and part-time positions, with an on-call requirement of one in five. To be eligible, applicants must hold or be eligible for Vocational registration with the New Zealand Medical Council. About the Team/Service At Wairarapa Hospital, you will be part of a dynamic and committed team of health professionals who are dedicated to providing modern and innovative healthcare solutions. Our facility serves a population of approximately 50,000, offering 24-hour acute and elective care across a variety of specialties, including general and orthopaedic surgery, medicine, obstetrics and gynaecology, ophthalmology, psychiatry, and paediatrics. We operate both public and private theatre sessions for a range of procedures, including General Surgery, Anesthetics, Orthopedics, Urology, Endoscopy, Gynaecology, and Obstetrics, as well as Ophthalmic and ENT services. We are dedicated to clinical excellence and encourage our Senior Medical Staff to participate in clinical audits and peer reviews to ensure the highest quality of care. About You You are a registered Medical Practitioner with the Medical Council of New Zealand or are eligible for registration to practice within New Zealand. You hold a higher qualification relevant to your specialty that is recognized by the Medical Council of New Zealand for specialist registration.
