About the Role We are seeking a qualified Anaesthetic Technician, Registered Nurse Anaesthetist (RNNA), or Operating Department Practitioner (ODP) to join our Level 8 theatres at Auckland City Hospital. This role offers a unique opportunity to be part of a diverse and high-performing team dedicated to providing superior patient care. In this position, you will be responsible for delivering efficient, effective, and safe patient care. Your key responsibilities will include: - Providing professional assistance to anaesthetists and collaborating with the multidisciplinary team to achieve positive patient outcomes. - Managing resources and equipment to support a 24/7 patient and whānau-centered care environment. - Sharing your knowledge and experience with your team members. - Participating in a 24/7 roster and on-call duties. - Ensuring timely documentation in Trakcare to facilitate efficient patient flow and discharges. - Actively contributing to our organizational goals aimed at reducing health inequalities for Māori and Pasifika patients. - Reflecting and demonstrating the values of Te Toka Tumai Auckland in your daily practice. - Providing competent support to your team and perioperative practice students in collaboration with your educators and the charge anaesthetic technician. About the Service The Level 8 Adult and Emergency operating theatres at Auckland City Hospital are part of our Perioperative Services at Te Toka Tumai. As a Level 8 Anaesthetic Technician, you will engage in a variety of complex yet rewarding patient care across a 24/7 service, covering multiple specialties, including general surgery, urology, vascular, orthopaedics, trauma, liver and renal transplant, HIPEC peritonectomy, interventional radiology, obstetrics, and neurosurgery, catering to both adult and paediatric patients. We will provide you with a robust orientation program, relevant training, and study days to support your professional growth. About You To be successful in this role, you will be a qualified anaesthesia support health professional with a relevant qualification, such as an experienced Anaesthetic Technician, ODP, or RNAA, and have a minimum of two years of post-qualification experience. Additionally, you will meet the following criteria: - Currently hold or be eligible for registration with the Medical Sciences Council of New Zealand or possess a current Annual Practicing Certificate with the Nursing Council of New Zealand. - Demonstrate flexibility and resilience in a dynamic healthcare environment. - Exhibit strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team. - Communicate effectively and engage in high-quality interactions with the multidisciplinary team and other staff members. - Proactively identify issues, escalate concerns, and engage in problem-solving. - Show passion and dedication to quality and excellence in patient care. - Maintain high ethical and professional standards. - Demonstrate an understanding of and ability to apply the Treaty of Waitangi principles, including Tino Rangatiratanga, Equity, Active Protection, Partnership, and Options for our communities.
