About the Role
We are seeking a Medical Registrar or Senior House Officer who is looking for a rewarding career combined with an exceptional lifestyle in the beautiful Tairawhiti region of New Zealand. We have openings for non-training Medical Registrars at both Basic and Advanced Training levels, with positions available to start as soon as possible.

Gisborne Hospital is a 110-bed acute care facility that serves a diverse geographical area extending up the East Cape of New Zealand, providing a unique scope and variety of clinical work. We cater to a population of 54,000 and are supported locally by comprehensive surgical services and a wide range of diagnostic facilities, including new MRI and CT scanners. Additionally, we maintain strong connections with our tertiary referral center in Waikato.
Located on the eastern coast of New Zealand's North Island, Gisborne is renowned as the first city in the world to experience the sunrise each day. The Tairawhiti region—translated as "The light shines on the water"—boasts stunning golden beaches, bush-clad mountains, and fertile farmland, enriched by significant historical landmarks and a deep connection to Maori culture. Our pleasant climate and short commutes contribute to a work-life balance that is truly enviable, allowing for more time to enjoy life.
Our values, represented by the acronym WAKA, guide us on our journey to create healthier communities in Tairawhiti:
Whakarangatira/Enrich - We strive to enrich the health of our community by doing our very best.
Awhi/Support - We provide support to our patients, their families, community partners, and each other.
Kotahitanga/Togetherness - Together, we can achieve more.
