About the Company
We are a reputable plumbing company based in Auckland, dedicated to providing high-quality services throughout the region. As we expand our operations, we are looking to recruit four skilled carpenters to join our team and contribute to various projects.
About the Role
In this role, you will be responsible for a range of carpentry tasks related to plumbing and gas installations. We require individuals who are available to work from Monday to Saturday, between 7:30 AM and 6:30 PM. Additionally, you should be prepared for callouts on Sundays and public holidays, as our work may require flexibility.
You can expect a minimum of 30 hours of work per week, with the potential to work up to 50 hours depending on project demands.
Key Responsibilities
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Cutting openings in floors, walls, and ceilings to facilitate the installation of plumbing and gas systems.
- Installing access panels for future maintenance and inspections of pipes and gas lines.
- Constructing and installing wooden or metal supports to securely hold pipes in place.
- Building enclosures for water heaters, boilers, and other plumbing or gas equipment to enhance both protection and appearance.
- Framing walls, floors, and ceilings in new builds to accommodate plumbing and gas infrastructure.
- Modifying existing framing to support new or rerouted pipe installations.
- Designing and installing cabinetry and countertops that incorporate sinks and plumbing fixtures.
- Building shelves and storage units around plumbing appliances for functionality and aesthetics.
- Repairing or replacing subflooring damaged during plumbing work.
- Reinforcing flooring to support heavy fixtures such as bathtubs and water heaters.
- Installing trim, baseboards, and moldings around newly completed plumbing work for a polished finish.
- Patching and repairing walls, floors, and ceilings post-installation.
Requirements
We are looking for candidates who meet the following criteria:
- A minimum of 2 years of relevant carpentry experience.
- Basic plastering and polishing skills are considered a bonus.
- A willingness to learn, with on-the-job training provided as needed.
- Reliability and punctuality, coupled with a strong work ethic.
- A positive attitude and the ability to work collaboratively in a respectful team environment.
- Adherence to all company policies, including hygiene, time management, and flexibility.
