About the Role We are currently seeking a dedicated Community Support Worker to provide care and companionship for a gentleman who values incorporating Christian faith into his daily life. This role is designed for someone who is resilient, energetic, and conscientious, and who feels comfortable engaging in Christian faith-based prayer with the service user. Support work in this capacity is not just a job; it is a rewarding and empathetic journey that allows you to build strong, trust-based relationships with the individuals we support, helping them live their best possible lives. Responsibilities may include: - Providing spiritual support and engaging in prayer within a Christian faith-based environment - Assisting with personal care, including showering and bathing - Helping with household management and meal preparation - Supporting exercise programs - Assisting with community access - Providing bowel, bladder, and catheter care - Utilizing hoists and performing manual transfers - Offering medication support Job Location: Tauranga Employment Type: Part-Time We offer a variety of employment options, including casual, part-time, and full-time positions, which can be discussed further during the recruitment process. As this is community-based work, you will be involved in rotating rosters that include morning, evening, and weekend shifts. Your preferred hours can be discussed during the recruitment process, and the duration of these hours may vary depending on the specific needs of the individuals we support. About You We are looking for a compassionate and empathetic individual who values faith-based care and understands the significance of spirituality in a person's well-being. You should possess a calm yet confident demeanor, demonstrating resilience while recognizing the challenges faced by our service users. The responsibilities of this role can be both challenging and fulfilling, and it is immensely rewarding to be part of a support system that enables individuals to thrive in their communities. Candidate Pre-Requisites: - Previous experience in healthcare is advantageous, but we also welcome individuals looking to enter the healthcare sector as comprehensive training can be provided. - Access to your own vehicle and the ability to drive independently (a Full New Zealand Driver's License is required). - Flexibility to travel and work on a rotating roster. - Legal right to work in New Zealand is essential. Benefits - Competitive pay range: $24.13 - $30.78 per hour (based on the Pay Equity Settlement 2017, with hourly rates reflecting the equivalency of Healthcare Qualifications). - Flexible working hours. - Travel allowance as per In Between Travel (IBT) rules. - Opportunities to obtain Level 3 and Level 4 Qualifications in Health and Wellbeing through Careerforce NZ. - Paid competency training. - Free Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) Services. - Free flu vaccinations. - Refer a friend program.
