Welder Fabricator - Timaru

As we continue to grow and meet our production needs, we are seeking a skilled Welder to join our team in Timaru. About the Role In this full-time, permanent position, you will play a key role in our production process. This role offers an opportunity to work alongside a dedicated team and contributes to the fabrication of essential farming equipment. Our working hours are from Monday to Friday, 6 AM to 5 PM, with the option to work on Saturdays from 6 AM to 11 AM. As a Welder, your main responsibilities will include: - Welding, fabricating, and preparing farming equipment and attachments - Fabricating, positioning, and aligning components using jigs, welding torches, and hand tools - Operating manual and semi-automatic welding equipment - Following blueprints and technical drawings with precision - Performing quality checks and identifying faults in materials or welds - Utilizing tools such as manual lathes, band saws, and drills for pre-fabrication - Maintaining health and safety standards at all times Requirements To be successful in this role, you will need the following qualifications and skills: - A minimum of 5 years of proven experience in welding and metal fabrication - Experience with MIG welding techniques and the ability to read technical drawings - Proficiency in using pre-fabrication tools, including lathes and drilling machines - Physical fitness and comfort with manual work in a workshop setting - Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work - A forklift license and a relevant NZQA Level 3 Certificate in Engineering Fabrication are advantageous - Ability to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test - A clean police report with no pending charges Benefits This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and skilled Welder looking to advance their career.
