About the Role We are currently seeking two Heavy Structural Steel Fabricators to join our team for an upcoming large-scale project starting in March 2025. This is a full-time position with a minimum commitment of 40 hours per week. The ideal candidates will be comfortable working with large components, including beams ranging from 500mm to 700mm and plating from 50mm to 60mm, as well as handling beams weighing between 10 to 15 tonnes. Key Responsibilities In this role, you will be responsible for: - Fabricating, welding, and assembling structural steel according to shop drawings and procedures. - Interpreting and understanding structural steel drawings and weld symbols. - Squaring up and welding various geometries of components. - Utilizing tools and equipment essential for heavy fabrication. - Developing templates and work aids to align parts. - Operating overhead gantry cranes to manage heavy components. - Collaborating with welders and assisting in fit-ups as necessary. Requirements To be considered for this role, candidates must have: - 10 to 15 years of experience in the structural steel industry, with a focus on heavy fabrication. - A solid understanding of structural steel drawings and welding symbols. - Proficiency in English, both written and verbal. - The ability to fit up components and work alongside welders when required. - The capacity to work independently and as part of a team in a multicultural environment. - Competence in operating overhead gantry cranes. - A proactive approach, including a willingness to work overtime, weekends, and night shifts as needed.
