About the Role
We are currently seeking two Hammerhands to join our close-knit team at our newly constructed facility in Hillsborough. This position primarily involves carpentry work, focusing on frames and trusses, as well as assisting with the current workload of small portable buildings.
Given the physical nature of this role, candidates should possess a good level of fitness. Strong communication skills and a willingness to work as part of a team are essential. Ideally, we are looking for individuals with 2-3 years of experience in a similar role. We also offer BCITO training to support your development.
The role is based in Christchurch, with working hours from 5:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday to Thursday, and a 2:00 PM finish on Fridays. There may be opportunities to travel to Otago for a week to gain exposure to additional sites. We also have a similar position available in another area of Christchurch for those interested in different locations.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should meet the following criteria:
- Reliable transportation to and from work
- Previous experience in carpentry
- Proficient in the use of hand and power tools
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks when required
- Capability to pass a drug test
- A satisfactory criminal history check
