About the Role We are seeking an experienced Clinical Physiologist with a specialization in cardiac care to join our dedicated team at Te Whatu Ora in Hawke's Bay. As a Clinical Physiologist (Cardiac), you will have the chance to apply advanced practices and shape the future of cardiac care in New Zealand. Our Cardiology Service is evolving from an investigative and referral-based service to a district-level interventional service, presenting significant opportunities for our Cardiac Physiologist team to influence the growth and development of this service. The area promotes a balanced lifestyle with a lower cost of living compared to larger cities, allowing for a relaxed and affordable way of life while still offering access to high-quality services and amenities. About You In the role of Clinical Physiologist (Cardiac), you will: - Provide high-quality care in your area of cardiac specialization, including diagnostic tests and related procedures. - Offer expert clinical support to patients, their families, and healthcare professionals. - Contribute to the development of local protocols and guidelines, ensuring a patient-centered approach. - Monitor and assess the effectiveness of interventions while engaging in continuous professional development. You will be responsible for conducting diagnostic tests such as ECGs, Holter/Blood Pressure monitoring, and exercise tolerance tests, as well as assisting in follow-up care. Additionally, you will provide haemodynamic monitoring during left and right heart studies and support various cardiac procedures as needed. While experience with pacemaker implants and follow-up care, as well as familiarity with Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI), is desirable, it is not essential. We are looking for a candidate who: - Holds New Zealand registration and a current annual practicing certificate from the Clinical Physiologist Registration Board (CPRB) or is eligible for registration. - Has clinical experience in cardiac physiology and a strong commitment to delivering high-quality patient care. - Demonstrates excellent communication skills, both with patients and within the healthcare team. - Is proficient in the use of clinical applications and is passionate about improving health outcomes, particularly for Māori and Pacifica populations. - Is a member of the Society of Cardiopulmonary Technology (NZ) Inc. - Desirable qualifications include two to three years of post-qualification experience, experience with haemodynamic monitoring, PCI, pacing, and a commitment to ongoing education and professional development.
