About the Role
We are seeking dedicated individuals to join our team as Respite Support Workers. In this role, you will support up to six tangata whai ora in a crisis respite setting. Our crisis respite service operates 24/7, and your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Providing medication support
- Assisting individuals in regaining their mental health and independence
- Maintaining a high standard of housekeeping
- Keeping comprehensive notes and conducting handovers
- Preparing healthy and inviting meals
- Advocating for the individuals we support
Available shifts include Tuesday to Thursday from 11:00 PM to 7:30 AM.
The Team
As a member of our team, you will report to the Team Coach and collaborate with our Pathways Wellington Respite Service teams. Together, we share a common purpose: to support individuals experiencing mental illness.
You
We are looking for candidates who possess a caring nature and work with a recovery-focused approach. To be considered for this position, you must meet the following requirements:
- Hold a current full driver's license
- Have a current first aid certificate or be willing to obtain one
- Possess the New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (NZCHW) or a recognized equivalent, or be currently studying towards this qualification
Please note that all staff working in a respite service are required to have the above qualification.
