About the Role
We are hiring Construction Technicians for full-time, permanent positions on infrastructure and commercial construction projects throughout New Zealand. The locations of these roles will depend on project demand, and we guarantee a minimum of 30 hours of work per week. Our pay ranges from a minimum of $25.00 to a maximum of $40.00 per hour, with all necessary personal protective equipment and tools provided. You will have the opportunity to work on major projects that contribute significantly to the infrastructure of our country.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will be expected to perform tasks that align with your skills and capabilities, which are essential to our business operations. Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Complying with all contract, project, or task requirements while delivering exceptional customer service.
- Erecting scaffolding or ladders for assembling structures above ground level.
- Creating structures, forms, or chutes, and pouring concrete.
- Covering subfloors with building paper to prevent moisture and laying hardwood, parquet, or wood-strip-block floors.
- Filling cracks or defects in plaster or plasterboard and sanding patches.
- Positioning and securing steel bars, rods, cables, or mesh in concrete forms using various tools.
- Conducting general labor tasks, including cleaning construction sites, loading and unloading materials, tools, and equipment.
- Executing any other duties as assigned by management.
Skills and Experience Required
We are looking for candidates with some experience in the construction industry, although it is not a strict requirement. Essential qualities include:
- A friendly demeanor with excellent time management and a strong work ethic.
- A commitment to learning and developing your skills in the industry.
- A solid understanding of health and safety procedures.
- Reliability and a hardworking attitude.
- The ability to fabricate and install custom joinery and cabinetry.
- Experience with general framing, fix-outs, door hanging, skirting, and architraves.
- Precision in measuring and cutting materials.
- Ability to work as part of a team while maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient workspace.
- Collaboration with other trades as needed.
- The ability to pass a criminal check and drug test.
Nationwide Opportunity and Travel
While this role is listed for Canterbury, we are recruiting for positions across all regions of New Zealand, depending on project requirements. The regions include:
North Island: Northland, Auckland, Waikato, Bay of Plenty, Gisborne, Hawke’s Bay, Taranaki, Manawatu-Whanganui, Wellington.
South Island: Tasman, Nelson, Marlborough, West Coast, Canterbury, Otago, Southland.
We welcome applicants from any of these regions who are willing to travel or relocate as necessary. The company will cover relocation costs.
