About the Role We are currently seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Enrolled Nurse to join our team in Ward 10a, a Medium Secure Forensic Intellectual Disability Inpatient Ward at Wakari Hospital in Dunedin. This role is a permanent part-time position at 0.6 FTE. In this position, you will work across both the Ward and a four-bed step-down unit known as the Cottage. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team that includes registered nurses, enrolled nurses, mental health assistants, occupational therapists, psychologists, and psychiatrists. We are particularly interested in candidates with mental health or intellectual disability nursing experience, but we also welcome new graduates who will benefit from our Enrolled Nurse Transition into Practice programme. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your clinical skills while providing safe, client-focused care in a dynamic environment. You will be working closely with the associate charge nurse manager, clinical nurse specialist, and registered nurses to meet the identified needs of our patients. About You The ideal candidate for this position will be an experienced enrolled nurse with a strong skill set and the ability to work effectively within your scope of practice. To succeed in this role, you will need strong written and verbal communication skills, along with a genuine passion for supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities throughout their care journey, from admission to discharge. Candidates must be registered as an enrolled nurse with the Nursing Council of New Zealand (NCNZ) and hold a current practicing certificate.
