About the Role
We are currently seeking a Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our Intellectual Disability Service within the Community Liaison Team at Step-Down Cottage, Wakari Hospital. This permanent, full-time position offers a competitive salary ranging from $116,040 to $127,674 per annum.
In this role, you will be responsible for initiating and facilitating educational training for mental health services staff. You will develop and deliver mandatory training to the Mental Health, Addictions, and Intellectual Disability (MHAID) workforce and assess training needs to create or coordinate new training programs in collaboration with other agencies.
You will model specialist mental health nursing care, drawing on your extensive theoretical knowledge, and work closely with nursing staff to enhance their clinical practice. Your contributions will be vital in developing ongoing clinical skills across the MHAID workforce.

About You
To qualify for this position, you will need to hold nursing qualifications, including postgraduate qualifications relevant to mental health, ideally a master’s degree or at least a diploma. We are looking for a registered nurse who is both positive and confident, capable of motivating and engaging staff in their clinical development. Strong communication skills and a collaborative attitude are essential, as is the ability to work well within a team.
Our ideal candidate will also have or be working towards a Level 4 Professional Development and Recognition Programme (PDRP), hold an active practicing certificate (APC) with a mental health scope, and possess intermediate to advanced computer skills.
