About the Role
We are seeking a part-time (0.7 FTE/56 hours per fortnight) professional to coordinate scoliosis outpatient clinics in Dunedin and Christchurch. In this role, you will support patients and their families throughout the surgical journey, collaborating closely with spinal surgeons, theatre staff, and allied health professionals. You will provide pre-operative education, conduct post-operative follow-ups, and maintain accurate clinical documentation while contributing to research initiatives. Our commitment to culturally safe and responsive care is paramount, and you will play a crucial role in ensuring this for all patients.
About You
The ideal candidate will be a registered health professional, such as a Nurse, Physiotherapist, or Allied Health practitioner, with a current Annual Practising Certificate (APC). Experience in orthopaedics, spinal care, or surgical coordination is preferred. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential, along with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively with various teams. A commitment to patient-centred and culturally responsive care is vital, and any research experience or interest in clinical improvement will be an advantage.
Salary Range
This position falls under the NZNO Collective Agreement, with a salary range between Step 1 ($116,040 p.a) and Step 3 ($127,674 p.a pro-rata) on the Designated Senior Nurse scale Grade 2.
