About the Role
We are currently seeking a Health Care Assistant Educator to join our team in a part-time capacity, working 0.2 FTE on a fixed-term basis until 19 December 2025. In this role, you will collaborate with the Primary Care Nurse Educator to implement the Primary Care Practice Assistant (PCPA) pilot program. This initiative, which we are delivering in partnership with Careerforce, focuses on providing mentorship, coaching, and targeted education to health care assistants in primary care settings.
We are open to negotiating flexible days, hours, and locations for the right candidate.
Requirements
To be successful in this position, you should meet the following criteria:
- A minimum of five years’ experience as a Health Care Assistant or Primary Care Practice Assistant in a primary care setting.
- Teaching experience and a passion for sharing knowledge, with confidence in delivering both face-to-face and virtual instruction.
- Strong computer literacy and comfort in working within an online environment.
- An innovative and flexible approach to supporting apprentices in meeting their learning goals and thriving in the program.
- A current driver’s license and the ability to travel throughout Southland and Otago as needed.
- A collaborative mindset, valuing the contributions of others.
