About the Role

The salary for this role ranges from $71,070 to $107,600 pro rata. We are seeking Anaesthetic Technicians/Assistants who hold registration with the New Zealand Medical Sciences Council, including a current Annual Practicing Certificate or equivalent. In this role, you will assist in providing team-focused perioperative care for patients undergoing surgery. Your responsibilities will include supporting the anaesthetist in the preparation, planning, and implementation of anaesthesia.
About the Team/Service/Location
Hutt Hospital features an eight-theatre Operating Suite and provides support to various remote areas, including Emergency Department, Radiology, MRI, CT, and Endoscopy/Fluoroscopy, as well as mental health services. The hospital serves as the main center for five tertiary regional and sub-regional services, which include Plastics, Maxillofacial, and Burns Services, among others. About You
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A solid understanding of perioperative and anaesthesia practices.
- Competency in assisting the anaesthetist during the intraoperative period.
- Skills in airway management.
- Knowledge of aseptic techniques and the ability to assist with invasive procedures, including arterial and central lines, as well as regional anaesthesia.
- The capability to recognize emerging complications related to anaesthesia and surgery, responding appropriately.
