About the Company We are a family-owned towing company based in South Auckland, operating 24/7. Our expertise lies in towing lowered vehicles, vehicle relocations, and providing support for accidents and breakdowns, including luxury, sports, and racing vehicles, as well as machinery and trucks up to 5 tonnes. As we continue to grow, we are looking for a dedicated tow truck driver to join our team. About the Role In this role, you will be responsible for safely transporting vehicles and machinery, ensuring our clients receive professional and timely service. You will need to be physically fit, as the job requires loading and unloading vehicles and performing various checks on the tow truck. Key responsibilities include: - Communicating effectively with customers to follow verbal instructions - Filling the truck with the appropriate fuel, oil, and water - Maintaining a clean and presentable truck - Complying with New Zealand road rules - Using a winch and strops to safely load and unload vehicles, whether automatic, manual, or electric - Completing logbooks, pre-checks, Tow Authority, and Car Removal documentation efficiently Candidates with truck mechanical skills will have an advantage, as this may be beneficial for handling any potential breakdowns while on the job. Out-of-town deliveries will be part of the role, with routes extending to areas such as Bay of Plenty, Northland, Waikato, Taranaki, and Napier/Hastings. Overnight stays may be required if working hours exceed the standard. The company will arrange accommodation for these instances. Additionally, there may be a need for overtime, public holiday work, and after-hour callouts. Candidates residing close to Otahuhu will have an advantage, as it allows for quicker response times. Requirements To be considered for this position, candidates must possess the following: - A full, clean NZ Class 2 driver's license - A full, clean NZ Class 4 driver's license - A V endorsement - A clean driving record and the ability to pass a police check - Physical capability to load and unload vehicles safely - A thorough understanding of and adherence to New Zealand road rules Benefits We offer a competitive hourly rate of $24.00 (gross), with weekly pay. The work schedule is from Monday to Saturday, with full-time hours running from 8 am to 7 pm and a minimum guaranteed 40 hours per week.
