About the Role We are hiring skilled Steel Fixers for full-time, permanent roles available nationwide. As part of our team, you will have the chance to work on major infrastructure and commercial projects. Your site location will depend on project demands, and we are looking for individuals who are willing to relocate or travel as necessary. Our positions offer a guaranteed minimum of 30 hours per week, and you will receive all necessary personal protective equipment and tools. Key Responsibilities In this role, you will be responsible for: - Interpreting engineering plans and drawings to cut, bend, and position steel bars and mesh. - Tying rebar using approved techniques for various reinforcement systems. - Placing and securing steel within formwork prior to concrete pouring. - Adhering to health, safety, and quality standards on-site. - Collaborating efficiently within large construction teams to meet strict deadlines. Requirements To be successful in this position, you should have: - A minimum of three years of experience in steel fixing or reinforcing steel, either in New Zealand or overseas. - The ability to read and work from technical drawings. - Strong physical fitness and a keen attention to detail. - Experience in commercial, civil, or infrastructure projects is preferred. - Relevant trade experience or qualifications would be advantageous. Nationwide Opportunity and Travel While this role is advertised in Canterbury, we are actively recruiting for positions across all regions of New Zealand based on project needs. This includes areas in both the North and South Islands, such as Northland, Auckland, Waikato, Bay of Plenty, Gisborne, Hawke's Bay, Taranaki, Manawatū-Whanganui, Wellington, Tasman, Nelson, Marlborough, West Coast, Canterbury, Otago, and Southland.
