About the Role
We are currently seeking experienced Chefs and Cooks to join our dynamic kitchen teams. We are looking for individuals who are passionate about Korean cuisine and thrive in a fast-paced, friendly environment.
Candidates must be New Zealand citizens or resident visa holders and should reside close to either the Auckland CBD or Albany location, or be willing to relocate. The minimum requirement for applicants is two years of relevant experience and/or a relevant qualification.
Full-time hours range from a minimum of 30 hours to a maximum of 50 hours per week.
Positions Available:
Pocha Auckland CBD
- Chef (2 positions available) | $25–$32 per hour
- Cook (2 positions available) | $25–$27 per hour
Pocha Albany
- Chef (2 positions available) | $25–$32 per hour
- Cook (2 positions available) | $25–$27 per hour
Pay rates will be commensurate with work experience and skills.
Chef – Key Responsibilities
- Plan menus, estimate costs, and source food supplies
- Ensure consistent quality and presentation of dishes
- Collaborate with management and front-of-house teams
- Provide leadership and training to kitchen staff
- Maintain hygiene standards and ensure compliance
- Engage in hands-on food preparation and cooking
- Oversee kitchen operations and support recruitment
- Perform other related tasks as reasonably required by the employer
Cook – Key Responsibilities
- Inspect food items to ensure quality standards
- Operate cooking equipment and regulate temperatures
- Prepare, cook, and season food items
- Plate dishes with appropriate garnishes and sauces
- Store food safely in temperature-controlled environments
- Prepare meals for specific dietary requirements
- Support menu planning and development of new dishes
- Train junior staff and assist in day-to-day kitchen duties
- Perform other related tasks as reasonably required by the employer
