We are a vibrant Indian restaurant located in Christchurch, in the beautiful Canterbury region. We are currently seeking a dedicated and proactive restaurant manager to join our team.
About the Role
In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the overall performance of the restaurant. You will work a guaranteed 35-hour week across rostered shifts, as we are open seven days a week. The pay rate ranges from $54,600 to $63,700 per annum, depending on your experience.
Your duties will include:
- Taking responsibility for the overall performance of the restaurant.
- Assisting with reservations, greeting guests, and ensuring they receive exceptional service and high-quality meals.
- Managing customer complaints effectively and promptly.
- Planning and organizing special functions as requested by clients.
- Ensuring accurate recording of sales and stock levels.
- Monitoring stock levels and ordering supplies as needed.
- Processing and analyzing information for scheduling and budgeting purposes.
- Recruiting, training, and motivating staff to create a cohesive team.
- Enforcing sanitary practices for food handling, as well as maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen and dining area.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will possess the following attributes:
- 1 to 3 years of relevant experience in the hospitality industry.
- A diploma or higher qualification in management, business, hospitality, or a related field.
- Excellent customer service skills, with a demonstrated ability to develop new business.
- A dynamic personality and a positive outlook to lead and inspire the team.
- A passion for good food and a strong appreciation for Indian cuisine is preferred.
- A current general manager's certificate with LQC is preferred.
