    About the Company Manaaki Marine is excited to partner with a well-established and highly respected marine engineering and services provider located in Mt Wellington, Auckland. This organization specializes in the supply, servicing, and installation of marine diesel engines and auxiliary systems, catering to both the recreational and commercial marine sectors throughout New Zealand and the wider South Pacific. With a strong reputation for quality, technical expertise, and personalized service, we are looking for a people-focused Operations Manager to lead our growing team of marine technicians, coordinate service delivery, and help shape the future of our operations. About the Role As the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for leading and supporting a team of technicians who work on diesel engines, generators, water-makers, and stabilization systems. Key responsibilities include managing workshop scheduling, workflow, and resource planning, overseeing procurement, parts supply, and stock management, and ensuring adherence to strong health and safety practices and operational compliance. You will maintain high standards of service quality and customer satisfaction by liaising with vessel owners, commercial clients, and internal teams to ensure timely project delivery. Additionally, you will contribute to the continuous improvement of our systems, processes, and team culture. Requirements To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates who meet the following qualifications: - A trade qualification in Marine or Mechanical Engineering, Diesel Fitting, or a related field - A minimum of 5 years of hands-on technical experience in the marine, mechanical, or heavy diesel industries - At least 2 years in a leadership or operations management role, preferably within a service or workshop environment - A strong technical understanding of marine engines and auxiliary systems - Experience with job tracking software, procurement systems, and health and safety frameworks - Excellent communication and leadership skills - A Full Class 1 Driver's License (a Forklift license is an advantage) Bonus skills that would be beneficial include: - Exposure to premium marine OEM brands - Familiarity with commercial maritime environments and customer requirements - The ability to work across both service and supply chain functions Benefits This is an excellent opportunity to join a respected marine business with a strong industry reputation.
