    Food and Beverage Assistant Manager Full Time Hermitage Hotel Aoraki Mount Cook, Christchurch/Canterbury About the Company At Hermitage Hotel, we pride ourselves on providing exceptional service and unforgettable experiences for our guests. Our team is dedicated to continuous improvement and maintaining the highest standards in food and beverage management. As part of our commitment to excellence, we are seeking an Assistant Manager to join our Food and Beverage leadership team. About the Role In this role, you will work closely with the Food and Beverage Manager, Executive Chef, and senior chefs to ensure a seamless service experience across our two properties, the Hermitage Hotel and Mount Cook Lodge, along with five dining outlets. Your primary responsibility will be to support the delivery of world-class guest experiences while fostering a culture of teamwork and continuous improvement. Key responsibilities include: - Collaborating with the Food and Beverage Manager to drive sales, enhance revenue, and implement cost-saving strategies. - Compiling the annual budget, reviewing variance reports, weekly department reports, and any additional reports as necessary. - Monitoring team members' performance to ensure compliance with established policies and procedures, including food safety and workplace safety protocols. - Addressing and resolving any service issues, optimizing guest experiences, and identifying training opportunities to prevent future occurrences. - Coaching and guiding team members in their roles to ensure they meet performance expectations. - Assisting in recruitment, team development, and fostering a positive workplace culture. - Establishing and administering training programs for new employees, including orientation. - Coordinating methods for maintaining high-quality service in food and beverage offerings. - Assisting with supply ordering, inventory control, and building supplier relationships. - Contributing to menu planning, development, and special meal offerings. Requirements To be successful in this role, you should possess: - A minimum of two years’ experience in a similar position or at a senior operational level within the Food and Beverage, Tourism, or Hospitality sectors. - Strong attention to detail with the ability to motivate and lead a team effectively. - Familiarity with food and beverage systems, processes, and procedures. - Proficiency in Microsoft Office and booking systems. - Strong time management skills, along with mentoring and coaching abilities. - Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. - A Duty Manager's Certificate or the ability to obtain one. - Current residency or employment in New Zealand is advantageous.
