About the Role
We are currently seeking an enthusiastic Optometrist to join the Ophthalmology Department at Dunedin Hospital. This full-time position, which offers 40 hours per week, is an integral part of our multi-disciplinary team approach to providing optimal patient care.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to enhance your skills and knowledge across various subspecialty fields, including retinal, glaucoma, paediatric, acute, and general pathologies. Our unique learning environment features elective treatment options, acute service provision, departmental teaching sessions, and opportunities for professional development.
We are looking for a candidate who is driven to achieve excellence through evidence-based clinical practice and who thrives in a bustling environment. You will work autonomously while also collaborating and consulting with other members of the Ophthalmology team to maintain our patient-focused, team-oriented approach.
Requirements
We welcome applications from new graduates. Candidates must possess current registration and a practicing certificate as a New Zealand Optometrist and Dispensing Optician.
This position falls within the PSA Allied, Public Health, Scientific and Technical Multi-Employer Collective Agreement, with a salary range from Step 1 ($77,087 p.a.) to Step 8 ($110,210 p.a.) on the Degree-based Allied, Public Health and Technical Pay Scale.
