About the Role
The Construction Technician will play a vital role in our projects across the country. We are seeking organized and trustworthy individuals who are motivated and results-driven. Flexibility in work locations is essential, as you may be asked to assist with projects nationwide.
The responsibilities of the Construction Technician include:
- Performing tasks within your skills and capabilities that are necessary for the business.
- Complying with all aspects of contracts, projects, or tasks while delivering customer service that meets or exceeds expectations.
- Erecting scaffolding or ladders for assembling structures above ground level.
- Creating structures, forms, or chutes and pouring concrete.
- Covering subfloors with building paper to prevent moisture infiltration and laying hardwood, parquet, or wood-strip-block floors.
- Filling cracks or defects in plaster or plasterboard and sanding patches using appropriate tools.
- Positioning and securing steel bars, rods, cables, or mesh in concrete forms with various tools.
- General laboring and cleaning of construction sites as directed by managers.
- Loading and unloading construction materials, tools, and equipment and transporting them around sites.
- Performing all other duties as assigned.
Pay Conditions
The hourly wage ranges from a minimum of $25.00 to a maximum of $32.00, depending on experience and skills. We guarantee a minimum of 30 hours of work per week.
Requirements
- Some experience in the construction industry is preferable, but not essential.
- Strong communication skills, good time management, and a solid work ethic are essential.
- A commitment to learning and developing your skills within the industry.
- Sound knowledge of health and safety procedures.
- Reliability and a strong work ethic.
Location
You may be required to work in various locations throughout New Zealand, including Auckland, Northland, Waikato, Bay of Plenty, Hawke's Bay, Taranaki, Gisborne, Whanganui-Manawatu, Wellington, Marlborough, Nelson-Tasman, Canterbury, West Coast, Otago, and Southland.
This position is permanent and full-time.
