About the Role
We are currently seeking an experienced Workshop Team Leader to join our Pre-Delivery Centre located in Porirua. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing and accessorizing all new cars before they are delivered to our customers. This position is vital to our operations, and we are looking for a candidate with proven experience in the automotive industry who is ready to take on a challenge and drive positive change.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing guidance, coaching, and mentoring to workshop technicians, apprentices, and groomers.
- Ensuring that all workshop staff meet the required productivity and efficiency targets.
- Assisting in the implementation of quality control processes and conducting necessary quality checks and documentation.
- Ensuring compliance with company health and safety and environmental policies at all times.
- Collaborating with the Parts Department to ensure that all parts and accessories adhere to the "Just in Time" process.
- Maintaining NZTA Warrant of Fitness (WOF) and Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI) requirements.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and skills:
- Experience in the automotive industry with a solid understanding of workshop operations and technical knowledge.
- Proven experience in coaching and mentoring, with the ability to motivate a team and identify opportunities for performance improvement.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering consistent quality.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and challenging environment.
- Organized and methodical, with the capability to implement and maintain effective systems and procedures.
- A blend of business acumen and personal motivation to meet and exceed business targets.
- An Authorized Vehicle Inspector (AVI) certification is essential.
- A clean and current full driver’s license.
