About the Role
We are seeking Experienced Structural Steel Fabricators to enhance our team. In this role, you will be responsible for interpreting engineering plans and technical drawings, assembling steel structures, and installing structural steel components at various construction sites. Flexibility is important, as you may be required to work across six regions, including Auckland, Waikato, Northland, Nelson, Canterbury, and Otago.
Key Responsibilities
- Interpret and follow engineering plans, blueprints, and technical drawings.
- Assemble steel structures and secure them using bolts, rivets, or welding techniques.
- Install structural steel components at construction sites.
- Cut, shape, and weld steel materials to meet required specifications using machine or hand tools.
- Inspect and maintain equipment and tools to ensure safe and effective operation.
- Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and quality standards.
- Collaborate with engineers, crane operators, riggers, and other tradespeople on site.
- Perform repairs or modifications to existing steel structures as needed.
- Work independently or as part of a small team.
Requirements
- A minimum of 2 years of work experience in steel fixing, welding, fabrication, or related fields is preferred.
- A friendly demeanor and a strong work ethic are essential.
- Effective time management skills.
- A commitment to continuous learning and skill development within the industry.
- A sound knowledge of health and safety procedures.
- Reliability and a strong work ethic.
- Must be able to pass a criminal check and drug test.
Benefits
We offer competitive pay, with a minimum of $30.00 per hour and a maximum of $40.00 per hour, depending on experience. Additionally, we guarantee a minimum of 30 hours of work each week, providing you with stability as you contribute to our projects.
