About the Role
As a Construction Technician, you will play a vital role in our operations. We are seeking organized and dependable individuals who take pride in their work. In this position, you may be required to travel across the country to assist with various projects, so flexibility regarding work locations is preferred.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Performing tasks that align with your skills and capabilities to support our business operations.
- Complying with all aspects of contracts, projects, or tasks while delivering customer services that meet or exceed expectations.
- Erecting scaffolding or ladders for the assembly of structures above ground level.
- Creating structures, forms, or chutes and pouring concrete.
- Covering subfloors with building paper to prevent moisture and laying hardwood, parquet, or wood-strip-block floors.
- Filling cracks or defects in plaster or plasterboard and sanding using patching plaster, trowels, and sanding tools.
- Positioning and securing steel bars, rods, cables, or mesh in concrete forms using various tools and equipment.
- Performing general labor tasks, including cleaning construction sites as directed by management.
- Loading and unloading construction materials, tools, and equipment, and transporting them around job sites.
- Completing any other duties as assigned.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should possess the following skills and experience:
- Some experience in the construction industry is preferable, but not essential.
- A friendly demeanor, strong time management abilities, and an excellent work ethic are crucial.
- A commitment to learning and developing your skills within the industry.
- A sound knowledge of health and safety procedures.
- Reliability and a strong work ethic.
Benefits
We offer competitive pay, ranging from a minimum of $25.00 to a maximum of $32.00 per hour, with a guaranteed minimum of 30 hours of work per week.
Location
This role may involve working in various locations throughout New Zealand, including Auckland, Northland, Waikato, Bay of Plenty, Hawke's Bay, Taranaki, Gisborne, Whanganui-Manawatu, Wellington, Marlborough, Nelson-Tasman, Canterbury, West Coast, Otago, and Southland.
This is a permanent, full-time position.
