About the Role We are currently seeking Trades Assistants to join our team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on diverse projects across New Zealand, which may require flexibility in work locations. As a Trades Assistant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that electrical systems are installed, tested, and maintained to meet all compliance and safety standards. Your responsibilities will include: - Reviewing electrical layouts to determine the appropriate systems and ensuring compliance with electrical and fire codes. - Installing and testing systems to verify they operate correctly. - Repairing any issues with the systems and replacing defective components as needed. - Working under the guidance of the Leading Hand, Supervisor, or Manager to ensure that equipment builds meet scheduled timelines, budgetary constraints, and quality standards. - Monitoring the progress of assigned work and communicating any delays or issues to the appropriate supervisor. - Conducting quality inspections as per company policies and procedures. - Understanding safety objectives and policies, and seeking guidance when necessary. - Participating as an active member of the marine team and contributing to the broader organization. - Completing any other duties as assigned. Pay conditions for this role range from a minimum of $26.00 per hour to a maximum of $30.00 per hour, with a guaranteed minimum of 30 hours of work each week. Requirements To be successful in this role, we prefer candidates who have: - Ideally one year of relevant experience or a qualification equivalent to NZQF Level 1, though this is not compulsory. - A friendly demeanor, strong time management skills, and an excellent work ethic. - A commitment to continuous learning and skill development within the industry. - A solid understanding of health and safety procedures. - A reliable and hardworking attitude. Location This position may require you to work in various locations throughout New Zealand, including but not limited to Auckland, Northland, Waikato, Bay of Plenty, Hawkes Bay, Taranaki, Gisborne, Whanganui-Manawatu, Wellington, Marlborough, Nelson-Tasman, Canterbury, West Coast, Otago, and Southland.
