About the Company
Tradestaff Global is actively seeking expressions of interest from qualified HVAC Engineers with commercial experience for an exciting opportunity at McMurdo Station in Antarctica during the Summer of 2025/26. This unique position offers the chance to work in one of the most isolated yet stunning environments in the world.
About the Role
We expect deployments to begin around October 2025 and continue through March 2026. The roles we have available require individuals who are prepared for the challenges of working in such a remote location. You will be part of a team working on a large commercial construction project, where hard work and teamwork are essential.
Qualified HVAC Engineers should have commercial experience with boilers, HVAC fans, unit heaters, hydronic pumps, wall radiators, and pipe fitting. This is not just a job; it is an opportunity to gain invaluable experience, save money, and forge lasting friendships.
Requirements
Please note that due to travel restrictions, only New Zealand and US citizens holding a New Zealand or US passport and currently residing in New Zealand are eligible to apply.
Candidates must also meet the following requirements:
- Willingness to receive Flu, Tdap, and MMR vaccinations
- Ability to commit to long hours, working six days a week, with no fly-in, fly-out options
- Flexibility with start dates, which depend on passing medical and dental checks, obtaining security clearance, and ice flight availability
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug and alcohol test
- A Full Class 1 NZ Driver Licence and a clean criminal record
- Patience with the lengthy application process, which may require travel to Tauranga for medical and dental exams (testing and flights will be covered for those traveling from outside the Bay of Plenty)
Benefits
We offer a competitive hourly wage of $73.64, paid fortnightly in New Zealand dollars for a total of 54 hours per week. Your package includes flights from any major New Zealand airport, food, shared accommodation, and travel insurance. We also provide all necessary personal protective equipment (PPE).
