    About the Company At Hawke's Bay Fallen Soldier's Hospital, we are proud to be part of Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora. About the Role We are seeking a dedicated professional to join our team in a permanent, part-time or full-time capacity, working between 64 to 80 hours per fortnight (0.8 to 1.0 FTE). The successful candidate will play a vital role in teaching, continuing medical education, and quality improvement initiatives. There will be an emphasis on the ongoing development of services to meet the diverse needs of our patients. About the Team/Service/Location Our busy gastroenterology service performs over 3,000 endoscopy procedures annually and manages approximately 2,000 outpatient appointments. Our current team includes three gastroenterologists and a group of nurses, led by two registered nurses who bring extensive experience in gastroenterology outpatient care and endoscopy. We pride ourselves on fostering a collegial atmosphere with an active group of medical and surgical specialists. Our new, state-of-the-art facility, Ruakopito, is located on the Hastings campus, consolidating all patient-based gastroenterology services in one location. This modern facility features two procedure rooms, patient recovery areas, resource and administration spaces, clinic areas, and meeting rooms. About You The ideal candidate will possess proven skills and experience in diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy. We encourage you to include a summary of your endoscopy experience with your application. While competency in performing ERCP and large EMR is desirable, we also value a commitment to customer focus, service development, and teamwork. Familiarity with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori is essential, or a willingness to embark on this learning journey is expected. Experience in projects or initiatives that align with the principles of Te Tiriti and the application of Mātauranga Māori and Kaupapa Māori approaches, particularly in healthcare settings, will be advantageous.
