About the Role
We are currently seeking an experienced Automotive Technician to join our dynamic service team in Taupō. This is a permanent, full-time position, with work hours from Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. In this role, you will be responsible for performing servicing, diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance across a diverse range of vehicle makes and models.
Key Responsibilities
In this position, you will:
- Perform diagnostics, servicing, and mechanical repairs to a high standard.
- Adhere to manufacturer specifications and internal quality standards.
- Support the daily operations of the workshop effectively.
- Carry out engine and gearbox rebuilds and overhauls.
- Conduct electrical fault finding and repairs.
- Assist in mentoring apprentices.
- Maintain strong customer relationships with a focus on service excellence.
Skills and Experience Required
To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and skills:
- A National Certificate in Automotive Engineering or an equivalent international qualification.
- Strong fault diagnosis and mechanical repair skills.
- Franchise experience with Mitsubishi, Kia, Honda, or Suzuki is a bonus.
- WOF Certification is preferred but not essential.
- A full, clean New Zealand Driver’s Licence.
- Strong communication skills and a high level of integrity.
