About the Role We are currently seeking an experienced Faultperson to join our High-Country Faults team based in Twizel, a unique location surrounded by stunning natural scenery, including turquoise lakes and snow-capped mountains. Living in Twizel provides access to world-class outdoor activities such as hunting, skiing, tramping, and fishing. Our Faultperson will play a critical role in providing routine and on-call responses to events, crises, and emergencies on the Alpine Network. What’s Involved In this role, you may be the first responder on-site in challenging situations, necessitating a calm demeanor and effective communication with Emergency Services, Alpine Network Control, and the leadership team at Alpine Energy Ltd. Your responsibilities will include: - Routine and emergency location and repair of faults - Rostered stand-by for 24/7 fault response - Resolving issues and challenges on-site in various locations and weather conditions - Installing, replacing, and maintaining overhead electricity distribution equipment, including transformers, fuses, switches, circuit breakers, conductors, insulators, terminations, and connections - Acting as a positive role model for health and safety practices - Performing network switching as directed and authorized - Carrying out metering and retail service work - Collaborating with the team to ensure the safety of yourself, colleagues, and the general public What You’ll Need To be successful in this position, you should have a combination of the following qualifications and experience: - EWRB Registration as an Electrician, Line Mechanic, or Cable Jointer - Experience in the electrical distribution and supply industry - A willingness to work toward obtaining the NZ Certificate in Electricity Supply Level 4 (Fault Response), NZ Certificate in Electricity Supply Level 3 (Field Switching), and Transpower Connected Party Operating - Residency in New Zealand, with either New Zealand citizenship or permanent residency - A current New Zealand Driver’s License What We Offer At Alpine, we are dedicated to promoting a healthy work-life balance and providing a comprehensive employee value proposition that empowers you to perform at your best.
