About the Role
We are currently seeking a Mammographer to join our Breast Screening Services team at Waikato Hospital and within the Midland Community. This is a permanent, full-time position requiring a commitment of 40 hours per week, although part-time applicants will also be considered.
As a Mammographer, you will play a crucial role in the early detection of breast cancer, which can save lives through timely diagnosis and treatment. Your responsibilities will include supporting patient care, providing education, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the best outcomes for our patients.
About the Team/Service
Breast Screen Aotearoa (BSA) is a breast cancer screening program that provides mammograms every two years for eligible women aged 45-69 years. Our service, Breast Screen Midland (BSM), covers the Waikato, Bay of Plenty, and Lakes District regions. We operate from eight fixed sites across the region and also have two mobile units that enhance accessibility for women in rural areas.
Requirements
To be considered for this role, you should ideally possess a post-graduate diploma in Mammography or be willing to undertake training. Additional requirements include:
- MRTB APC
- Excellent customer service skills
- Strong communication abilities
- A genuine interest in promoting women's health and well-being
- Knowledge of Te Reo and a willingness to embrace Tikanga Māori
