Caregiver - Dementia - Part Time

About the Role We are pleased to offer an exciting opportunity to join our Bruce McLaren Retirement Village in Auckland as a Caregiver in our Special Care Unit. This part-time position is ideal for someone with a passion for dementia care who is experienced and reliable. The work schedule includes shifts on Friday and Saturday from 7:00 AM to 1:30 PM, and Sunday and Monday from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. In this role, you will: - Oversee residents and provide activities that engage them. - Follow individual care plans for our residents, ensuring that the care provided is equivalent to what you would offer to your own family members. - Engage with residents to develop meaningful relationships with them and their families. - Utilize the latest technology, including our purpose-built care app, myRyman. - Take time to learn about each resident’s background and preferences to help them enjoy life to the fullest. About You To thrive in our supportive and caring environment, we are looking for candidates who possess: - Experience in dementia care. - Strong empathy and kindness in their demeanor. - Outstanding communication skills. - A reliable, friendly, and professional style. - The ability to obtain or willingness to complete the relevant unit standards (or an equivalent qualification approved by Ryman) within 18 months of starting employment.
