About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Chef to join our team at one of our Business & Industry sites located in Mt Wellington, Auckland. In this full-time, permanent position, you will be responsible for preparing, cooking, and serving high-quality meals while adhering to our food safety and health standards. You will play a key role in contributing to a positive and efficient kitchen environment.
Your Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
- Prepare, cook, and present a variety of meals, ensuring quality and portion control.
- Receive, store, and rotate kitchen supplies while maintaining accurate stock levels.
- Maintain hygiene and cleanliness in kitchen areas and equipment.
- Support menu development to cater to dietary and cultural needs.
- Assist in coaching team members and contribute to fostering a collaborative kitchen culture.
About You
The ideal candidate will possess:
- An NZQA Level 4 Certificate in Cookery (or equivalent) and an NZQA Food Handling Certificate (Units 167 & 168).
- Proven experience in a similar kitchen environment, demonstrating strong food safety knowledge.
- A team-oriented mindset with a flexible, can-do attitude and excellent communication skills.
- Physical fitness and reliability, with the ability to work under pressure while maintaining a positive outlook.
- Experience in menu planning, stock control, and working within budgetary constraints is an advantage.
