Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is committed to the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and aims to establish a health system that serves all New Zealanders effectively. We prioritize diversity and inclusion within our workforce to better understand and serve our communities.
About the Role
We are excited to offer an opportunity for an experienced Addiction Specialist to join our Mental Health and Addiction services in Te Tai Tokerau. This position is open to all senior medical practitioners with a focus on addiction practices and is particularly suited for those interested in a quaint small-town lifestyle, whether it be rural, farm-based, or beach-oriented, all set in the picturesque region of Northland.
This leadership role, based in Whangarei, is an integral part of Northland's broader Mental Health services, addressing the needs of the entire region from Wellsford to the North Cape. This is a unique chance to participate in a program that emphasizes collaboration between police and health services, leveraging government investments aimed at combating methamphetamine addiction in our district. You will provide leadership and guidance to a multidisciplinary team, with ample support for your professional development and significant opportunities to make a meaningful impact.
About the Location
Northland, known as the "winterless north," offers a warm climate, excellent schools, affordable housing, and beautiful coastal areas that provide a variety of recreational activities. We are conveniently located just a two-hour drive or a 25-minute flight from Auckland, New Zealand's international hub.
