About the Role We have a fixed-term opportunity for a passionate and experienced retail leader to oversee our retail and customer service teams at VetSouth’s western clinics located in Winton, Otautau, and Lumsden. This position is a maternity leave cover lasting for 10 months. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in enhancing the customer experience, driving sales, and ensuring that each clinic operates smoothly and efficiently. Your responsibilities will include: - Leading and supporting the retail and customer service teams across the West region - Delivering exceptional customer experiences both in-store and over the phone - Conducting regular team meetings, training sessions, and performance reviews - Collaborating with marketing and suppliers to ensure promotions and displays are effective - Managing inventory and ensuring compliance with stock level processes - Fostering a positive team culture that embodies VetSouth’s core values Additionally, you will be responsible for: - Promoting a safe work environment and enhancing health and safety practices within your team - Engaging with other VetSouth retail leaders to share insights and improve operational consistency - Representing VetSouth at community and marketing events as needed About You We are looking for a leader who thrives in a dynamic environment and has a strong focus on customer satisfaction. Ideally, you will possess: - Over 5 years of experience in retail, including at least 2 years in a leadership role - Strong leadership, coaching, and communication skills - Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Outlook, Word) - A proactive, organized, and solution-oriented mindset - A genuine interest in supporting rural New Zealand communities - Knowledge of the farming or veterinary industry is advantageous but not mandatory if you are eager to learn This position is based in Winton and will require travel to our clinics in Otautau and Lumsden, so a full, clean New Zealand driver’s license is essential.
