About the Role We are currently seeking a part-time Advanced Clinician Speech Language Therapist specializing in Otorhinolaryngology (ORL) for a fixed-term position at Auckland City Hospital. This role is ideal for an experienced New Zealand Registered Speech Therapist looking to join our dynamic and supportive Speech Language Therapy (SLT) Service. In this part-time role, you will be working 32 hours per week, Monday to Friday, primarily in outpatient ORL clinics and inpatient head and neck surgical wards. You will manage a complex caseload, delivering high-quality, outcome-focused care while applying evidence-based practices and interventions. You will also have the opportunity to lead clinical education and quality improvement initiatives, working closely with individuals and their whanau to provide comprehensive client care. Reporting to the Clinical Lead of Speech Language Therapy, you will be supported by both the Director roles in Allied Health and the ORL service, as well as professionally by the Professional Leader of Speech Language Therapy. About the Team/Service/Location Our SLT team consists of dedicated and passionate professionals who are committed to advocating for our patients and enhancing health outcomes. We currently have 16.2 FTE Speech Language Therapists who work across both inpatient and outpatient settings, fostering a collaborative environment that prioritizes patient care. About You We are looking for a candidate with the following qualifications and attributes: - A New Zealand Registered Speech Language Therapist with a current Annual Practicing Certificate. - A minimum of 6 years of post-qualification experience, with at least 4 years in acute surgical settings, ideally within head and neck cancer services. - Experience or a keen interest in assessing and managing voice disorders, including the use of flexible nasendoscopy and stroboscopy. - Proven advanced skills in the use of FEES, Videofluoroscopy, and tracheostomy management. - A strong understanding of bicultural issues and a commitment to the Treaty of Waitangi. - The ability to collaborate effectively with various professional groups in a multidisciplinary environment. - Exceptional time management, flexibility, prioritization, and organizational skills. - A proactive approach, coupled with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and a proven ability to lead and drive service development.
